Sporting goods retailer Dick’s Sporting Goods boasts recent new store openings and new leases under all of its brands, including two new locations in Ohio. Many of the new locations are taking over empty larger mall spots. The retailer recently announced strong revenue growth and expansion plans, particularly with the acquisition of Foot Locker. Dick’s opened 16 House of Sport and 15 DICK’S Field House locations last year and plans roughly 14 and 22 additional sites, respectively, in 2026 as it scales experiential concepts and its Fast Break Foot Locker initiative.
Construction started late last year on a next generation DICK’s Sporting Goods store at Eastwood Mall in Niles, Ohio. The new, larger format store will relocate from its current 52,000 s.f. building in the adjacent Great East Plaza into a massive state-of-the-art 72,000-s.f. anchor store within the enclosed mall. The current location in the adjacent Great East Plaza will remain open until the new larger store debuts, which is anticipated this summer. Eastwood Mall boasts nearly 200 retailers such as department stores, specialty shops, restaurants, hotels and entertainment options. The Eastwood Mall Complex is owned and managed in association with Cafaro-affiliated companies.
A Dick’s House of Sport opened at SouthPark Mall in Strongsville, Ohio, marking the first location of the retailer’s experiential concept in the greater Cleveland MSA. The two-level, 100,000-s.f. store took over a former Sears anchor space. The location features a rock-climbing wall, outdoor field, batting cages and golf simulators. Attached to the store is a field that will be used for open play, clinics, league space and as an ice rink in winter months. Dick’s Sporting Goods relocated from its former 55,000-s.f. location within the center. Owner Spinoso Real Estate Group acquired SouthPark Mall in 2021.
Dick’s Sporting Goods opened a 100,000-s.f. store, another location under its House of Sport brand, at Live Oak Town Center, a mixed-use development in Live Oak, Texas, on the northeastern outskirts of San Antonio. The store, which will anchor the property along with a 300,000-s.f. IKEA and a 79,681-s.f. Floor & Décor, features a climbing wall, outdoor field, golf bays and a multi-sport cage. Weitzman internally represented the landlord in the lease negotiations.
Continental Realty Corp. signed Golf Galaxy, a golf retailer owned and operated by Dick’s Sporting Goods, to a 20,000-s.f. lease in metro Charleston, S.C. The retailer will open its new store, the retailer’s fourth location in South Carolina, next year at Sweetgrass Corner, a nearly 90,000-s.f. shopping center in Mount Pleasant. The store will carry golf equipment and apparel and feature a performance center with hitting bays, putting green, service desk, technician workshops and instructions from golf experts. The Navigator Group and GreatStreet Realty Partners represented Golf Galaxy in the lease transaction.
New tenants recently signed leases to join Annapolis Mall, including a Dick’s House of Sport, which will debut this summer. Annapolis Mall is a 1.6 million-s.f. super-regional shopping center located in Annapolis, Md., approximately 30 miles east of Washington, D.C. OFFLINE by Aerie is also coming this summer and UNIQLO and Jack & Jones will open in the fall. Additionally, Fello will join the lineup in winter 2026. The inclusion of these tenants at the center will total roughly 300,000 s.f. of retail space. Annapolis Mall features more than 200 retailers and restaurants.
