Condo and townhome financing will see increased opportunity in 2026

The condo and townhome lending market will remain selective but increasingly opportunistic going forward. Strong sponsors and clean projects will get done, especially with some new lenders entering the game. Lenders who retreated during the rate volatility of 2022 to 2024 are beginning to re-engage, particularly for well-located projects with experienced sponsors that bring additional liquidity to the market.
